From now on, I'll try to keep you updated with the different magazines that are released around Europe. Be-mag is the most known of European brands, but it's worth checking out the German magazine Roll2Soul. I got hold of the latest issue to tell you more about it.
Even though the magazine is in German, it is still worth checking out since big parts of the magazine is pictures just like any other skate magazine. If you are lucky enough to know German, you can also read the in-depth stories the magazine offers.
What first struck me about this magazine is the layout. On the contrary to the other leading European magazine: Be-mag, it doesn't have smart graphics going all over. This doesn't mean that the layout isn't good and that it doesn't have fancy graphics – they are just chosen with care. This means that you can actually read much of the text in an undisturbed way.
The articles are also longer and more in-depth with what you can find in other magazines. I particularly fancy that.
Highlights of the magazine is the news (more local to Germany than the international be-mag and daily bread), a long review of the Roces Graal (I wish all skate magazines would spend this much space on telling about new products – that is what matters to me), Brian Aragon interview (In German… this is the only thing that that doesn't make it for me), x-mas jam article, movement tour article (see review of this video elsewhere on the site) and a fairly big photosection.
It's worth to check out – especially if you know German!
