Nils Janson from Poland took the Pony Cup 2012 win. Congratulations!

Ralf Monnerup was the best Danish skater of the competition, which qualifies him as winner of the Danish Championship of park skating in 2012. Congratultions to you as well!

Camp 42 2011 has been announced

Camp 42 will be in week 42 as is the tradition. The competition itself is on saturday, but you’re more than welcome to drop in on friday already to try out the new layout of the skatepark, to warm up, and to hang out.

It’ll be possible to sleep in the skatepark from friday to saturday. The park opens at 14:00 (approximately) and closes saturday evening when we leave for the afterparty! – and of course there will be an afterparty… ;-)

We hope to see a lot of people from all over!

It’s on again! This year is packed with real street competitions in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden – check out what dates you need to reserve.

Nørrebro Meltdown 2011 is tomorrow

Tomorrow, it’s time to turn on the heat in the Nørrebropark skatepark once again. It’s going to be damn hot – primarily as Christian Berg got hold of some uranium from Japan that is going to light up the barbecue.

At the end of the day, we’ll have found this year’s Spring King – one way or the other. There is also going to be a killer junior competition.

Fees:
50,- to participate (25 if you are a RAD member)

If you pay either one, you’ll also get a complimentary bread and sausage – just as last year.

The winner (The Spring King) takes the profits.

Winterclash 2011 impressions

The tricks at bigger skate competitions are always next level, breath taking, and sick. However, I find myself coming back to them not because of the next level breathtaking sick tricks, but because of the people I get a chance to meet and hang out with. It’s the people that make a great competition – the happy faces, faces from long time ago, and faces to look forward to meeting again next year.

This year’s Winterclash was nothing short of amazing. That shouldn’t come as a surprise for you. Winterclashes are always amazing. Go read about that somewhere else.

Jojo Jacobi did something amazing this year. If he was a businessman, I would have sworn that he had read about Lean manufacturing – a discipline about focusing only on what brings value to the customer (the spectators) and eliminate everything else as it is waste. Everything else is considered waste as the customer couldn’t care less about it. The goal is to eliminate as much waste as possible.

This is exactly what Jojo did this year. He eliminated all the security guards, all the strict rules, free food for riders and media people, a huge location, a rented park, and much more – all of which the spectators couldn’t care less about; the security guards were annoying and so were the strict rules, the spectators didn’t get any free food, the huge location made the whole thing seem empty, and an established tested skatepark worked better.

Instead, the Winterclash team focused on bringing value: built extra obstacles that would deliver a great show, allowed people to enter the course adding to the atmosphere, and provided cheap beer. Couldn’t be better for the spectators.

In return, Jojo got a whole lot less to worry about (all those things that didn’t bring value), less things that could go wrong, and way fewer money at risk. The result was a happy crowd, and an even more happier Jojo Jacobi and WInterclash team.

Trondheim Skate Gathering

February 26th is the date to be in Trondheim, Norway! The annual Trondheim Skate Gathering (TSG) is up again! Skaters from Norway and the rest of Scandinavia gather to fight for the title in Norways biggest skatepark.

Entrance is free. Registration costs NOK 50,00.

The Yasotuko brothers are coming to Linköping
